They Still Live
Welcome to another Draft Pick Mix Show

This time, I guess it’s safe to say that we are making a political statement, nothing to do with the bloody EU, everything to do with the authentic hip hop sound before the ‘young and wavy’ hip hop that is popular right now. But before the under 25’s exit the page thinking ‘another DJ Dad Dance compilation’, hold tight, press play and appreciate the hard and clever lyrics that the mortgage payers of your household grew up on.

Frankly any one old enough to remember or like the 1989 cult classic horror flick called ‘They Live’ (guilty as charged), will understand the metaphoric title. The rap game has been hijacked, we don’t know when it happened for sure, but look carefully and you’ll the subliminal messages urging us towards greed, laziness and lack of self development. How do we wake from this trance like state? All we have to do is put on a real hip hop record and compare lyric for lyric with whoever is meant to be the hardest lyricist now and you will see the truth that has been hidden just out of your reach.

Another hip hop movement is taking place on the underground, this is my attempt at exposing their talent to the sheep who follow. Rappers like Phonte, AG, Styles P, Evidence, Necro & Joey Bada$$ will show you on this mix that real hip hop still lives!!

Peace
Rulz
