Tha Dutty Buffessor Presents ..... Dutty Politics : The Best of 2014
Welcome back to the Draft Pick Mix Show sponsored by Ill Flava Records
We expect great things this year and will certainly be hitting you up with undiluted hardcore urban music from anywhere in the world that produces it.
Around this time every year, we do the year’s wrap up where we showcase as many of the hottest songs over the last 12 months as possible and this is year is no different. The latest mix is 'The Best of 2014' subtitled 'Dutty Politics' and is hosted by Randy Tonge and the legendary H White Moses. We also have special guest appearances by Bad Gal Ronster and Ea$y Money.
Bad Gal Ronster, in my opinion, is one of the very few females who can lay claim to the crown. She has a natural flow and a hard hitting ready wit. Like much of the capital’s talented grime/hip hop artists, she originates from East London. During my hiatus, Karl Hinds hit me up with a message that read ‘brov check this out’ and there was a link to the’ You Tube’ video of BGR’s Niggas In Paris Remix. After watching it (and being totally blown away by it), I listened to her mixtape ‘Hood Tapez Vol. 1’ and was convinced that I have to get back into the game!!
Meanwhile Traum Diggs has been gaining recognition as an artist in his own right. He followed up his excellent Mixtape in 2008 with an EP/Mixtape entitled ‘The Throwback Series Vol.2’ with clever interpretations of some of the hip hop classics we know and love. This is still available for free download on www.chambermusik.com. This months’ show being the best of 2009 had to be split into two disks and we really went in so hope you enjoy it!!!
One of the great things about hip hop is that if you have real talent, no matter where you come form you have a shot. New York is traditionally the capital of the Hip Hop world, but other regions have encroached over the years. Most notably LA, but also the Southern states, Detroit and Philadelphia. When I first listened to Termanology, it was evident that Boston would soon be on the map in a big way. Ea$y Money is a member of Termanology’s talented crew S T Da Squad (whom I first featured on the March 2008 episode of the Draft Pick Mix Show). I have been monitoring their progress and once I noticed that Ea$y Money is about to release some solo projects, I had to holla at him for an interview. He spoke to one of our Music Correspondents, Randy Tonge, exclusively for The Draft Pick Mix Show.
Peace
